Well try 1992 off the top of my head, though the charts can be a little inaccurate.

48m is often seen in Speedmasters that have been sent to Beinne and given a service replacement movement.

Unfortunately this does not appear to be documented - the concept of these service replacement movements is not properly researched.

However circumstantial evidence suggests it is the case.

I have seen several 48m serials in 145.022-69's with spoken history with Bienne, and a 145.014 with the same. I have seen too many 48m to think it is just some rogue watchmaker.

Thanks for the help Spacefruit!

Unfortunately I don't have the papers to confirm

I just think it's weird because I can't find anything about them on internet and I've searched a lot. At first I was thinking it was fake, is there any possibility of it?

The excellent ilovemyspeedmaster.com tool gives a range of dates of Feb 1992 for 48280000 to Sept 1992 for 48289999. Obv if this range is used for replacement movements for earlier watches then that may not be definitive but if you have a 3590.50 with cal 861 then I would think 1992 is about right. I am guessing the 1861 above is a typo (rather like the way you have set out 359.05.000) as the movement wasn't name changed to 1861 until about 1996 with the 3570 model.

For what its worth, this is what extract data exists in the database for 48mil SN's.

482236xx 1988/1/1
482319xx 1987/5/1 ***
48238246 1988/1/28
48239425 1988/7/8
48253121 1989/7/11
48253269 1989/7/18
48259243 1990/5/31
48268616 1991/11/8
48270668 1992/1/26
48276881 1991/9/10 ***
48312158 1994/08/04
48329865 1995/6/25
48333867 1995/10/19
48334250 1995/10/1 ***
48365133 1997/10/1
48394659 1999/3/1

(x) in a SN represent a partial (obscured) SN. This IMHO is a pain.
(***) represents a reverse in the order of SN : date. But no matter...statistics don't care.

I’m with @Foo2rama - pictures would be nice. I am pretty sure there are some slight changes in the beginning of the 90s in MWO (Seraphs on the 7s ok the tachy, the short S in speedmaster on the dial).

If you posted a picture it would give some people more to go off of. Helping you get a better answer. I have what I believe is a 90/91 example to compare with.
