Hi all,

I have a Seamaster 2531.80, 1120 movement, 41mm. The serial in movement and case is 60128868.

Consulting omega serial number check online, this serial is for a 1999 production year, but my watch has hands, dial and pip in tritium, that stop production in 1997.

What is wrong with this piece?

What's wrong is that you trust online serial decoders to determine the date of production. Your watch is fine.

As already noted, the serial number lists you find on line are not accurate.

Serial number: 60128868
Article ref: 25318000

Your watch is fine.

@Archer without wanting to abuse your goodwill in answering: my bracelet has laser-engraved markings (825, 23S, Omega, etc.). I have/had several other bracelets from that era and they were all stamped. Should I be concerned?
