Up for sale is this rare white gold moonphase Speedy, introduced as part of the Apollo 11 30th anniversary releases. Omega have been quoted as saying they made only 285, and they have been increasingly hard to come by in recent years - none came up for open sale on the net in 2017.

Price £7500, by sterling bank wire. Fully insured shipping by UPS Express within EU included, other locations at cost. No returns unless not as described.

Case: 42mm 18kt white gold
Crystal: Sapphire
Movement: 1866

Some notes on condition:

The Good

Very rare and a stunning watch – the blued steel is a real highlight

The watch is unpolished, with the crisp lines and chamfers of the original factory finish. Note that it has been worn though (see below)

Sapphire crystal is flawless

Full set, including papers, hang tag and date/moonphase tool

Genuine Omega alligator strap, on original white gold deployant, with plenty of life left

The Bad

Two small dinks on the white gold bezel (pictured).

Tiny dent on the underside of the 5 o’clock lug. Faint strap changing scratches to the upper side of all four lugs and to the lower side of the 11, 1 and 5 o’clock lugs. These are all detailed in depth in the pictures, and appear far worse in the pictures than they do in real life – you don’t notice them when it’s on the wrist.

Watch has almost certainly not been serviced by Omega since 2008 - the moonphase disk sticks in one position of the month and has to be advanced manually past this point. @Archer discusses the issues and the fixes (documented by Omega in 2008) in this thread:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedy-moonphase-3576-50.18079/

For this reason, a service by Omega is strongly recommended. Otherwise, the watch runs well and keeps good time. I do not want to open the case back but can provide movement shots and a timeographer shot from the previous owner on request.

Feedback:
Great experience selling to Mathlar
Mathlar is a great buyer

Slight dent to underside of 5 o’clock lug:

Scratches on underside of 5, 1 and 11 o’clock lugs:

Scratches on upper side of lugs:

Two small dinks on the bezel at 12.30 and 5.30:

90's/00's leatherette card wallet has reacted with the outer and inner boxes and degraded. There is staining visible to the warranty card and to the underside of inner box:

Yep, it’s amazing what a difference a couple of hallmarks makes... your arm gets a workout every minute of the day wearing this!

I'll have you know that I played the lottery tonight and I just might send you a PM later tomorrow. Haven't checked the numbers, still in that blissful what-if phase... 🙄

Me too. Tomorrow I’m sure I’ll be withdrawing this from sale and ransacking both sales sections.

Sunday bump. One's just been listed up for auction at Sotheby's in Hong Kong on 2nd April. Wide estimate (£6k - £9k GPB equivalent). Mine is in better condition with box and papers.

So the Sotheby's watch sold for £7.2k, in worse condition, no box or papers and, we have to assume, also needing a service.

Happy to consider offers based on what it's going to cost you to service this!

Bump. Had a couple of offers involving partial trades. I would consider trading for a JLC master ultra thin moon or the TDMP master calendar, cash either way depending on case material and condition.
