Hi guys,
I am selling this pretty rare Omega Speedmaster 145.022-68 "Transitional".
I think most of us know the reference.
If not here some more info: http://speedmaster101.com/145-022-transitional/
I am selling the watch because I just found another one.

I made a lot of pictures, so I think they tell a lot.
Case seems unpolished to me though I think you can never be sure a Speedmaster hasn't been lightly polished.
Anyway it's really sharp and I think most would describe it as very very good.
Of course some minor hairline scratches but really nothing major or annoying.

I think pushers and crown are original though I have to admit I am not a real Speedmaster expert.
So I am sure you guys will correct me in case I am wrong.
Original plexi with the Omega logo clearly visible.
DON bezel in a pretty good condition.

Best of all is the incredibly cool looking dial with the best hour indices I have ever seen.
And I mean that. Dial and hands have the original tritium. Dial is just mint with no scratches or imperfections.
I made some really high-resolution pictures. No photoshop. So I think everyone will agree this dial is just stunning.
Tobacco color hour indices.

The watch had a complete check up by my watchmaker and is running great.
I give a 12 month guarantee on the movement.

  • Applied Metal Logo Dial with long indices
  • Low serial number calibre 861: 2732xxxx
  • Date stamped -68 in the case back
  • Dot Over 90 Bezel
  • Spear Chrono hand
Speedmaster101 has a price indication of 6900 USD for this reference in good condition.
I think this watch is better than just good. But I still decided not to overprice it.

About myself. I sold and bought some watches and parts on this forum but I have to admit I am not a regular seller on this forum. I am a regular seller and buyer on Chronocentric since I am espcially focussing on the Heuer Autavia references. But I have a pretty hard Speedmaster addiction since recently. So I am sure that I will spend more time here in the future.

I always give a full refund on my watches in case there would be a problem or in case the watch would not be as described. Buying a vintage watch should be a fantastic experience, so I am always trying to make sure my buyers are fully satsified.

Price: 6800 euros ( fully insured shipping with FedEx included )
option: new Bulang strap that matches great with the watch: + 80 euros

Payment: Bank transfer or PayPal ( add 4% to cover for my fees )

Best regards,
Bernard

Hello, that is a very nice watch and a very thorough listing as well. The crystal is most likely not the original crystal as that is a newer version of the Omega logo, and the crown is most likely not original either as it should probably have the flat foot logo. Overall a lovely watch and priced very reasonably, GLWS.

I'm not entirely sure your right saying a -68 transitional should have a flat footed crown. I think a modern logo 32 tooth crown may also be fine here.

I wouldn't be too worried about the crown. Having owned a couple of pieces of this reference that came without the flat footed crown. (one from an original owner that had never had the watch serviced), I am willing to concede that crowns were variable.
To me the importance of the dial, long indices, applied logo, movement etc fits the bill well.
Nice piece and GLWS.

Don't see too many come '68's up for sale, see a ton of '69's, didn't expect it to last that long on this forum.

Well bought.
