    Hi OF

My consolidation efforts continue with an Omega Speedmaster 145.022-68 Transitional in very good condition. I purchased it in January 2023 here from the dealer sales forum, as I instantly fell in love with the condition of the watch.

Condition, condition, condition, as we hear and read here almost everyday, right. Well, weirdly enough I've only worn it a few times, as I've tended to pick my more worn-out 145.012-67 when I felt like wearing a vintage Speedmaster. I was struggling throughout 2023 whether to keep or sell the -68 but always decided to keep it for the condition. However, with other watches having entered the stable in 2023, tearing a gaping big hole into wallet, the Transitional finally needs to find a new home.

    Specifications and condition
    Model
    : Omega Speedmaster Professional
    Reference: 145.022-68
Movement: Cal. 861. Movement number 26'557'xxx with confirmed production date of January 23rd, 1969, delivered to Japan as per the EotA. I haven't had it serviced during my possession and I don't know the service history. The watch runs very accurately and my watchmaker confirmed that a service is not imminently necessary. The chronograph functions also work, but as you can see on the pictures the hour counter does not set back to 12. It hasn't bothered me and as a service wasn't necessary, I decided to keep it like that, until a service would be due.
Case: Very nice and crisp. The brushing on the sides are still clearly visible. Some dings and hairline scratches here and there. The most noteworthy ding is the one on the tip of the lower left lug, which is however not visible when wearing the watch. The Hippocampus on the case back is still crisp.
Dial & hands: Just a dream to look at, in perfect condition. The Tritium lume is complete on both dial and hands with a very pleasing color. The lume color in the minute hand is slightly darker.
DON bezel: Almost flawless condition with minor lacquer loss at 120 and a minor ding at the edge at around 95.
    Crown: Original 24 teeth crown.
Crystal: I cannot see a logo, but given the many superficial scratches I assume it's a replacement crystal from an early service.
Accessories: A mildly used Forstner flatlink bracelet. Electronic copy of the Omega EotA (unfortunately I don't have the hard copy). As a funny coincidence, the extract was signed on January 23rd, 2023, marking the 54th anniversary of the movement.

    Terms
I'm asking CHF 7500 plus shipping to recoup my costs. I'm happy to ship worldwide. No returns unless gross misrepresented. The watch and I are located in Switzerland. Wise and bank transfer are my preferred methods of payment. F2F pick-up in Zurich even more welcome.

I have plenty of reviews here as a buyer and seller. If you have any questions, please ask.

    Pictures
Two sets of pictures, first shot with my DSLR and a macro lens, punishingly revealing every detail, followed by (perhaps) more representative pictures taken with my Iphone 13 in natural light.

+1. I thought very seriously about pulling the trigger on this one, but I would have had to sell my Straight Writing to raise the funds - couldn't let that one go. Lovely example though.

It’s now SOLD. The new owner was meant to get this watch (birthyear Speedy, personal connection to country of delivery). What better match can there be? Thanks OF for the space.
