Hi Forum Folks!
I am looking at a watch that's on an auction, and I do need your help here.

The auction house states this a 145.012-66, but I don't think they have a clue?

Here is the description from them:

OMEGA Speedmaster ref.145.012-66 circa 1966 Steel bracelet chronograph watch. Round case with lyre handles (Huguenin frères) with external tachymetric bezel and "Don" insert. Screw-down caseback with Speedmaster logo. Signed crown. Dust cover.

Anyway..
It has a 321 movement, and the serial nr is in the right period.
The pictures shows the caseback with a CB stamp, but the pictures of the watch doesn't (in my opinion) show the facet line on the lugs..
Could these have been shaved down, or is the casebook from another watch??
I know that the condition isn't top, but it would be a nice daily beater maybe?
But I need som help with this one!
What do you guys think?

I can't get the pics to upload here on the post, what am I doing wrong..?

I can only add photos, but not upload?
Check the size of the photos, if they are too big they won't load.

Can you get a picture of the side profile or the rear of the case?

Its got "fat neck pushers" (Speedmaster 101:s words..), single beveled caseback...
The crown i think is a replacement?

Unfortunately they’ve cropped out the important bit. The tips of the underside of the lugs have a larger facet/flat area on the CB cases. It isn’t really shown in your pic but from what I can just make out in the 7 o’clock lug, this doesn’t appear to be a CB mid case

obviously 145.012 is not housed in a cb66 case and therefore, should not have a cb-66 caseback. so the subject watch may just have a wrong caseback. if you get it for the right price, you can find a replacement with the right one later on. good luck.

Well thanks guys for helping med out!
Nice knowing how to make a plan..😀
That often falls flat..

Midcase is HF and caseback CB (must have been some FU during some service maybe?).
And a hunt for a correct caseback!

The pushers do appear to be for a 105.012, so I don't see why the auction house is calling it a 145.012, unless the serial number is in the wrong range. Sorry if I missed that info.

@Dan S :
I do think it must be a 105.012-66? My title of the thread, but I could be WAY OFF...
The serial nr is 2495xxxx, and the range for a 66 should be 2453 xxxx-2544 xxxx (Speedmaster 101 once again..😉)

I have a 2495xxxx that is a 105.012-66 HF, delivered in September 1967. It has a wide-T dial, for what that's worth.

Thats really funny!

This one checked out as an Oktober 67 (Ilovemyspeedmaster.com)!
I don't have an extract...

So its should be correct!

And wide spaced T also..

So hopefully the reference nr is set now?
Condition is maybe not the greatest..but I do start to like the watch!

That appears to be a close-spaced T dial. I believe that the Ts are one tick mark farther out on the wide-T dial.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, close and wide may have been produced at the same time for all I know. But I suspect someone on the forum knows for sure.
