A few have made it to the California boutiques. Sadly, by the time I get mine the 55th will be available. 😁

Yep, and Boston Bert accused me of being judgemental. Boston Bert, just get your deposit back and don’t attack the brand. They are doing a decent if imperfect job of trying to allocate these watches to clients who care and will wear it with pride.
I was told they are not issuing refunds. They are offering the 321 as a substitute in the nearer term. The 321 is no longer as hot as it was at release because it appeals more to collectors than to the general public. The snoopy has the general appeal that will keep it inflated.

Your Omega Boutique is not issuing refunds? And are offering the 321 instead? Does this mean they have the 321 in stock? And is this an Omega owned boutique?

Who told you they are not offering refunds? I’ve posted a few times in various threads about Snoopy 50. I put a $5000.00 deposit down the day it was announced. I received mine Feb.5th. My friend still has his deposit in and we were just there (OB) yesterday and they told him he can get his money back whenever he wants. I think your getting some bad info.

Yeah, this particular OB is not. Other OBs may be dancing to their own tune. The boutique managers do their communications by phone, and thus each one is taking liberties. I was told the snoopy 50 list is a “Swiss list” and that the 321 is less restricted (so if some of his customers are willing to pass on it...it is deflating so some will pass...it might be a shorter term alternative). The length of the lists for the 321 is much shorter than the snoopy 50 list.

Omega micromanage their OB but the control is not absolute. I have been waiting for the 321 too so I’m willing to accept it as a pacifier. I still think this big deposit to impress Switzerland thing was a miscalculation since the Swiss responded with their “Swiss list”. This is why I would caution would be buyers of the snoopy 50 to not give deposits.

No they did not say that, they said the list for the 321 is shorter and not directed by the Swiss. You won’t stumble in on a 321 in a boutique shop window.

Unfortunately, if you're in the US and want a Snoopy 50 you don't have a choice. Either put a deposit down and wait or don't put a deposit down and wait even longer to get one.

“Boston” Bert, if you’re in the U.S., somebody’s finessing you

If you want to get un-finessed, direct your OB to return your deposit or they’re otherwise breaking the law.

I’m meanwhile highly skeptical there is a U.S. Omega Boutique (as compared to an AD) that is maintaining that they will not return a deposit - something’s off here.

They can't keep your deposit if you decide to back out of the deal, that's illegal. If they could offer the 321 in a definite time period instead of the Snoopy I'd be on that in an instant, but I doubt they could give you any definite delivery date. That OB is playing fast and loose with facts, and the law.

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm 99.99% sure that it's illegal to keep a deposit like that, in the US. And telling you that you can use that deposit to buy a more expensive watch is the very definition of a bait and switch, which is probably ALSO illegal.

That said, if they told you that you could get the 321 for the same price as a Snoopy, you should take it, keep the 321 or flip it for a profit, and get on the list at another OB.

Either are separate violations of basic consumer protection laws of any U.S. state; if “Boston” is in Boston, the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Law is an example.

These are not the sort of laws a person can call the police to enforce, but instead that can be initiated by the State’s Attorney General Office against a business, or via a complaint procedure by the consumer (MA’s procedure outlined in the above link).

If I wanted my deposit back and an OB or AD rep was playing this game, I would first warn that I was about to do four things: (1) submit a complaint to the MA AG’s office of violations of the MACPA, (2) submit a formal complaint by consumer letter to the OB under the MACPA, (3) file a charge-back/fraud claim with my credit card provider, and (4) provide copies of (1)-(3) to Bienne.

If the warning didn’t work...

sounds like an AD, not an OB (at least not a corporate owned OB).

I'm going to have to chime in on this one. You need to name this OB if that is truly the case. My OB here in Virginia will give me a refund if I ask for one. But, I'm not...I'm patiently waiting for the phone call that my Snoopy has arrived. Can you confirm the store is an actual Omega Boutique and not just an AD?

The OB not returning a deposit is totally bogus.
I don't understand the purpose of spreading false information.
Some moderation would be advisable in these cases.

The didn’t say that either. They can’t hold the deposit for ever and they know it. At some point, if they don’t produce a watch I want, I’ll ask for the deposit to be refunded, and omega will be dead to me.

You do know some of us waited a year almost for the Speedy Tuesday 1.....
I did pick 1861 and was happy to wait and be one of the last few.

Just chill with all the forum OB said this and OB said that and especially the VVVIP / VIP stuff and eventually it will come if you have a deposit.
A lot of people want this watch and probably 4-5x what Omega thought.

Did you pay them a 100% deposit and wait a year? Putting up with OB games or Rolex AD games is one thing but giving them a deposit and then being jerked around is a totally different thing. If you let yourself get molested by these unethical people, that’s your choice. This guy has until vaccination day for the public until I close the door on omega. I think taking a 100% deposit with an April delivery promise that isn’t kept is 10,000 times worse that telling a guy “but this Cellini, and we’ll see about getting you that Pepsi”...maybe it’s because I fell for the former but never for the latter. I expect Rolex ADs to be slimy, but not an OB....live and learn.

Ok, but did we establish/clarify that there is NOT an OB refusing to give your deposit back?

because if so, you just take back your deposit the moment you’re unhappy

I seems for you that should have been a while ago
