Anyone aware what allocation is like for the UK. Every dealer I speak to seems to stop taking any allocation. I thought this was not a limited product ?

I was chatting with my UK Omega AD about it yesterday. They have approximately 100 people on their list (they said “don’t worry, everyone on it will be contacted”) and watches will be allocated in strict order. They are happy it’s not a limited edition but mentioned the degree of difficulty Omega will have in the manufacturing process and keeping up with demand; they therefore don’t ever envisage it appearing in a display case. They think the first ones will ship in early November and are as excited as me to see it in the flesh.

I put my name on the list at 2 OBs about 4 weeks ago, one said I was about 70th on the list and the other seemed to suggest I was under 50ish. I haven't heard a bean from either of them so far, although I didn't have a buying relationship with either beforehand.

I have heard suggestion on other forums that there is an initial run of around 7000 pieces with the first 1000 set aside for the USA. If that is true, it doesn't leave that many for all the other OBs around the world.

Yes, the AD is worried about the flpperbility of this watch but admitted that there will be little they can do to stop it.

It's not a limited edition but production will be limited. The dealers probably don't want 400 names on a list since realistically they won't be able to supply that many people in a reasonable timeframe. I'm guessing that once AD's hit a certain number on their waitlist, they probably stopped taking names until they can start clearing the list with deliveries.

Makes sense as from what I am getting it will take 2 years to clear the current list. What are the chances omega will continue making the watch.

The remaining 6,000 then go to us in the UK. Simple.

Argh. Now that's some genuine Omega kitsch. My AD had one of those as recently as last spring. Some mothers do 'ave 'em, I guess.

I’ve had my deposit in since early September here in USA, I’m in NJ and my OB said they had received a lot of deposits and had a long waiting list. They couldn’t provide insight into when the watch will be allocated to me, apparently HQ will decide who gets the watch first based on purchase history, which I have none.
