I'm in the market for my first luxury watch and am torn between the two.
I would buy both watches used as I want to spend as close to £1000 as possible. First of all the omega would be the more expensive at around £1600 for a quartz and my local add has a aquaracer 500m calibre 5 in very good condition including a spare rubber strap for £1250. Is it a good deal?
Alternatively I have also looked at the Longings hydroconquest, which seems very good for the price. It costs £790 new from an AD.

Personally I would go for a used but well cared for omega automatic there was one being sold here for £1,250, withdrawn now but another will be along https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-seamaster-gmt-50th-anniversary.27314/
my first four figure watch was a Tag and it is probably worth about $400 now, that Omega will hold its' value much better and will last forever if serviced every few years

    1) On watch forums, Automatic > Quartz. Why not search for a pre-owned TAG?

    2) PICTURES! We need some G::censored:: d::censored::n pictures!
