Omega seamaster purchase question

I can live with a little dial damage given this has not been repainted and the case not mirror polished, though I don't know if the movement has been recased.. The logo and minute marks are VERY crisp. Many will scoff though. These can be bought often for a deep discount. I'd rather buy 2- $300 dollar watches than 1-$900 watch. The real gem though is when a seller gives one crappy picture and a 1 sentence description and (with a roll of the dice) you pick u p something for half of it's value.

I decided to buy the watch!
Thanks for your input. I'll be careful when cleaning the dial, don't like to see it damaged.
Interesting that you mentioned that the watch is perhaps recased. I was initially thinking that the movement was replaced - and the dial and case back are original.

I guess that a recase is more likely.
I tried to find out if one can find out for which models specific movements have been used, but I didn't managed to find this.

I also thought it has a lot of good features going for it. I read that the movement is nice, it comes close to the 551 movement.

This will be my first omega seamaster, I'm pretty excited!
