Do you have a gold inlaid clasp Omega badge? I'm not sure about the theory in that link you show. 32 and 62 are clasp numbers and don't really relate to the main body of the bracelet. Both kinds use the same clasp in fact. See my link I added above, the bracelet should be all steel with gold clasp inlay. If you have a gold inlay, I don't see anything amiss despite you seeming to be convinced there is...
yes , it has a gold omega badge

Here is another. No endlink markings. Looks to be the original stamped clasp numbers. Same as yours in every way except yours has later lasered clasp marks. It could well be that Omega fits the same replacement clasp at service regardless of whether is a full steel or part gold 1501/823.

could be, anyway, it doesn't really bother me, it just something that's interesting to learn somehow.

I find the name stamped on the side really cool and wish Omega used it on more watches. Until now I've seen it only on one Apollo Speedy and now here.

not sure why they don't do it often, probably higher cost, or bec nobody really sees when on the wrist

I read somewhere that these watches were delivered in a green Omega box with a booklet or something, signed by Mayol.

I have never seen one offered with B&P, or any pics of a full set.

Can anyone oblige?

Yes, i've seen them online with green box instead of red, didn't know about the Mayol signed though

Good evening, I just bought the same 2553.41 from Japan, it is very beautiful and I am happy. I have two questions about the bracelet 1501:
  • How many links (the big ones) is the bracelet supposed to have? I count 12 in total on my watch, but it is too tight and I would imagine that the bracelet would count with one more link.
  • Does Omega sell the Gold Omega sign that is supposed to be on the clasp? Mine is gone unfortunately.
Thank you!
And enjoy the Jacques Mayol 😀

I meant HEV, redzer007 was right 😀 , it's automatic, cal 1120 which i believe is an ETA 2982 or something

the endlinks of this just looked different and without the etched 823

the image below is what i got from google

Can you show the interior of the case to confirm if case number is 168.1615 ?

Answering my own question, caseback reference is indeed 168.1615 (from the new to me 2544.80.00 which shares the same case reference)
