Hi guys, I picked up this Omega Seamaster Polaris Chronograph 386.1031.1 recently. It was a spur of the moment purchase and I feel I got an ok deal. It was $389USD in the end.

So what do I have here? From what I know about Quartz chronographs, the hands not aligning isnt a great sign. Is there a way to reset the hands on this watch? Does anyone know much about this model, such as is this real 18k gold in the case? Is the crystal sapphire? It comes with an immense nineteen and a half link bracelet, which is awesome, plus two spare links were shipped with the watch which were not disclosed in the auction. Bonus. Is the clasp meant to come apart as pictured or should it remained fastened and slip off the wrist? It was listed as having a broken clasp but it seems ok to me.

A quick google search found this:

    https://calibercorner.com/eta-caliber-251-262/

and include the instructions on how to reset the chrono hands. I have a watch with the ETA caliber this is based on, and it’s very simple. Just pull the crown to first position and use the upper and lower pushers to reset the two sets of the chrono hands (I forget which ones, but it’s obvious), then pull the crown to second position and repeat for the other 2.

PS: does anyone even google stuff before they post anymore? I just typed “Omega calibre 1675” and the link was in the middle of the page.

Did you notice my last close up of the dial before your post? The hands were already reset as I had done some research and found the steps to reset the hands.

Here is my totally useless (but appreciative) comment:
I really like the style of the watch! I have never seen that case before - it reminds me of the 80s chrome/gold furniture when I was a youngster.
