Hi all,
I am new here.
I don‘t know if there is somebody who can help me.
I am about to buy a Omega Memomatic from a private seller. State is „very good“
Can somebody experienced help me to identify that it is a real and not a fake?
Many thanks in advance

I am not sure if the bracelet is the correct one for the watch, beside that it looks authentic, What make you think it’s a fake? Usually those rare models are not so popular among the bad people…

Thank you so much for your answer.
It‘s just that I want to be sure as I am not a watch specialist. This will be a bday present !!!

The watch is real and not fake. The 618 endlinks you have are correct for this reference, but the bracelet itself is not. The correct bracelet will be either the 1170 or 1182 both with 618 endlinks.

Nice bday present.

Thank you for your message. I see you are a real specialist. But the bracelet is a real Omega???
Yes, I think this will be a great surprise for him😊

You did well with this as it is a good gift. I hope he enjoys it. The bracelet is very much real and genuine Omega. I just meant that it isn’t the correct bracelet that was original to this watch. Which, honestly, isn’t important. The numbers I mentioned above would be considered correct and original to this reference, and I only mentioned them in the event you or the recipient of the watch wanted to track one down.

That was a good idea to mention the correct refs.
I‘m now happy that all is original.
Thank you so much🙏

I'd be interested to hear what bracelet is currently on the watch when you have it in hand.

It looks like it could be a 20mm 1168 which are fairly difficult to find and very comfortable to wear. I have one on my Speedmaster.

If I had to guess, I would say it’s more likely to be a 1186 bracelet, which is similar in style but has a pretty dramatic taper. The OP’s bracelet also looks to have a dramatic taper.

As opposed to a 1168

You are probably correct on that point. Good catch on the taper.
