Hello

I have an Omega Seamaster that was from my grand father. Can someone give me more information? It has the incorrect dial.

Ref 2494 from the early 1950s. What's wrong with the dial?

The original dial had seamaster printed over the 6. Is possible they painted the original dial. Is the dial colour similar us the original?

The dial is definitely repainted, but it's not possible to know what it originally looked like, or where (or even if) Seamaster was printed on the dial.

The serial number suggests circa 1951 +/- a year. At that age, the Seamaster text probably was present originally, it was lacking on. the first year or 2 of SM production ie 1948-49
