    Hello Guys,

    Looking to pickup my grail watch, any Vintage Omega Seamaster De Ville. Found this listed on ebay and wanted to verify that the dial was not retouched. I tried looking for the same watch in omegaenthusiast's webstore but had trouble finding one exactly alike. I'm still waiting on the pictures for the movement. Please let me know if the dial is no longer original before I haggle haha.

    I tried finding a similar dial online however I noticed that all of the de ville's without the automatic text below the "Omega" text was in black however this was in Gold.

    I've never seen those hands on the DeVille before. I usually see the hands with the lume the whole length of it. Unless that's just missing the lume.

    Hello Guys, can I also get your opinion on this? The seller is selling it for a cheaper price. Thanks

    Lower left lug is seriously bent, heavy wear on the edge of the back, this would put me off.

    Dial is fine.

    Those are the correct hands. But yea, the lug and caseback are in pretty bad shape.

    Are there automatic seamasters without the automatic text on the dial?

    For completeness, adding my DM comment here;

    “Well my first reaction is the dial is wrong. Seamaster DeVilles have ‘automatic’ on the dial when they have an auto movement.
    The only thing that gives me slight pause is the fact it’s a cal 550 which was a lower jewelled movement for export to the US (lower jewels equal less import duty) which was cased locally by Norman Morris group. It’s unlikely but possible they simply didn’t have an ‘automatic’ dial when casing up this watch and used one intended for a manual.

    If you haven’t already update the thread as there’s a couple of US members who know more detail about these US cased watches than I do”

    Regarding this specific watch, the dial issue whilst interesting to understand is secondary to the fact the lug is bent. That alone would make me move on as these aren’t rare watches. Better to find a better example.
