Lately I've been attracted to the Omega Seamaster Cosmic. I love the solid case. What are some experiences Forum members have had with this watch? Is it dependable? What should I look for when buying one? What is the difference between the 166-022, 025, 026, etc? Is the Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 a better watch?
Thanks for any help.

I think that the cosmic is one of the most underrated Omega lines. The 2000 vs regular is just something that is for you to decide between, as I view it to be entirely a matter of taste.

Thank you. What is the difference between the 166-022, 025, 026? Is it just the size of the case?

I owned one briefly and they are attractive watches to me. The earlier 1960s watches generally have movements that tend to be more highly regarded than the later 1970s Cosmic 2000s, but it is a matter of choice. I can’t answer the question about case sizes and model variants, I’m afraid.

Sure, @OMEGuy - mine was from around 1969:

I really liked it, but it had an issue with the mainspring that recurred. The dealer who sold it gave me a refund and I bought a Dynamic instead for a lot less.

Some very cool dial variants on these.

Nice one. 👍 I believe these are still undervalued.

I agree - I had been looking for another Cosmic, but I got seduced by a C case Connie instead... no pictures of that yet - still awaiting a replacement crystal and its return from a service.

I could imagine worse things in life than being seduced by a Connie... 😀

Yeah - I’ve seen some of yours on here! No kidding!
(Right - must stop hijacking the OP's Cosmic thread...)

So does anyone know the difference between the 166-022, the 025 and the 026? Is it a difference in the movement, the size of what?

I can only recommend you to get a cosmic, I had this one and really enjoyed it. Forgot the second one.
