I bought this watch on Ebay for a decent price from a seller called mostah. Has GLOWING reviews on Ebay and yet, the watch I bought, I cannot find ANYWHERE online. Nothing that is exactly the same as the one that I have. From the case, to the dial, to the hands. It looks really good! But, the swiss made is cut off at the bottom and there is no serial number on the back of the case. If anyone can tell or help me determine if its genuine that would be great! It just seems like the dial doesn't fit the case as well.

Its also worth noting that the bracelet is not an omega bracelet, I put that one on it came with a leather strap.

The watch looks legit to me 👍
Is there a particular reason why? I think its odd I cannot find any other cosmic 2000 that looks like this? Is that typical for a watch back from the 70's? is that because production was different back then?

Don't know where you were looking for similar examples, but a quick Google image search took me to this video of a restoration for one that looks identical to yours:

Don't believe the "rare" comment in the title, though. Still, yours looks to be in a LOT better shape than the one in the video.

Thanks for your reply - I actually saw this already - different case, different hand lengths, and different dial markings! This is part of my concern! I am still thinking that it may not be genuine? Any thoughts?

Omega used many different dials and many different case designs.

So you're thinking its legitimate? Again I've seen nothing but great reviews from the seller, but one cannot be too careful!

Looks genuine and not a particularly uncommon model. When you say you can’t find it, are you referring to case shape, dial colour/style or both combined?

Either way, if you Google ‘seamaster cosmic 2000 blue dial’ you’ll see lots of examples.

Assembled from parts for different watches? Possibly. Certainly, the tension ring of the plexi is not supposed to partially cover the Swiss Made.

But fake? Nope.

It may have been redialed at some point. There are restorers in Korea who love this model and usually repaint the dial, both in factory and non factory colours.

Higher res pics required to confirm as the quality of the redials is quite high (relatively)

impossible to open the tuna can. Mine lacks the outer case where the lugs are.

Mine is a bit more “worn in”, has spiderweb cracking and is day-date, but certainly not dissimilar:

Reference is 166.0133

I have the same problem where i cant identify my watch ref number or a model close to it sad true 🙁

Have you tried to use Google to find the reference number? A very quick search shows it’s a ref 166.136

I have searched this reference you came with, the crown and bracelet matches perfectly, but not the dial 🙁
