·FS Omega Seamaster cal.1040 (176.005) “False Jedi” on Holzer bracelet *US$2,650OBO* [EDIT: $2,000]
A good example, with the particularly attractive combination of:
èSilver “Yachting” dial with OAS (OMEGA AUTOMATIC Seamaster) verbiage and matte black hour sub-dial
-> Powder blue tachy handset
-> All applied furniture including AML
-> Original 1170/653 bracelet (though see clasp description, below)
-> However, interior tachy bezel with chipping at periphery
Price: US$2,000.00 (OBO) net of any preferred payment or shipping fees
Note: I have attempted to take the ugliest possible photos of the watch, with macro – see wrist shots for best proxy of IRL appearance, your mileage may vary
Dial: Original
Hands: Original baton style
Crown: Original (signed)
Crystal: Original (sapphire)
Case: approx. 42 x 48mm (absent crown). Some very small hairline scratches or rubs, no dents. The hairline scratches are so few and feint it is difficult to photograph any of them, but please see photos. This case style, in this condition, is exceedingly rare (they are otherwise prone to being beat about, or overly polished – while this one instead will cut your finger).
Interior Tachy Bezel: These watches have a tachy bezel as rahaut, interior to the crystal; on this specific watch, the tachy/rehaut is silver and immaculate. Personally, I find all other non-silver hehaut varients of this model to be far less attractive than this silver-on-silver version, light catching the angles well.
Movement: cal.1040 auto see here for far more on this movement/watch. Not serviced in my possession. For the past 7+ years in my possession, I’ve not worn the watch more than a few hours, and for photos. I’ve never really set the time/date in earnest. Date wheel clicks through as expected. Winding and time-setting all works as expected if a little stiff. Crono second and minute hands reset to 12 as expected. The movement looks clean and great to me, but I’d assume the watch deserves a service were it to be worn/wound with any regularity. (Service was not a priority for me as I largely kept the watch as a fine example of an otherwise rare variant to be in this condition.)
Bracelet: The watch came to me fitted with a Holzer bracelet for the south American market, and I have no reason to believe it is not original to the watch. Some very small hairline scratches, rubs, to the bracelet but no dents. The hairline scratches are so few and feint it is difficult to photograph any of them, but please see photos. Bracelet barely fits (only a hair too tight) my large 21cm wrist at the third-in clasp extension (would fit perfect if adjusted to the largest setting).
Accessories: Includes watch and bracelet only. (The leather watch mount, etc., shown in pictures is for picture-taking purposes only and not included.)
Location/Shipping: Watch located in Austin, TX, and price includes shipping to CONUS via USPS (if you would like FedEx Priority shipping, please add $25). (I will consider well thought out, proposed and reimbursed alternatives including international shipping, insurance, etc.; but I reserve the right to politely decline further effort – and these days, all EU/UK related headache is on buyer, with apologies and condolences.)
References: I’ve not sold a watch since 2014; I’ve only sold watches on OF, and back then references were not so common/required a follow-up. I have plenty of feedback as a buyer on eBay, with the same handle of cvalue13. Otherwise, the primary risk-adjustment I can offer buyer is my tenure on OF together with the language below in bold italics.
Disclaimers: All descriptions above are as I understand/view it; I’m not a professional seller, or always deeply familiar with the minutiae of my vintage pieces. It is not my intent to sell something I don’t have, and buyer is free to ask questions and do its own diligence. Accordingly, I welcome forum member comments/corrections regarding complete authenticity or period-correctness in the comments section (*grits teeth and braces for impact*).
Returns: No returns please; ask questions and extra pictures in advance. Always welcome to request video as well.
Trades: As I am pairing down to shore up, I’m not currently interested in trades
