·Good day all. Up for sale is a 1962 Omega Seamaster reference 14762 with a sunburst dial and arrowhead markers, freshly serviced from a caliber 562 and a BOR 1502/11 that will fit up to a 7.25 inch wrist. I purchased the watch from OF member nanjingcigaretes (Harry) in April of this year. As it turns out, I ended up getting Harry's beautiful Seamaster 14762 and then I also found and purchased a Seamaster 166.009 with a very similar silver sunburst dial with arrowhead markers! As a result, I've decided to sell the 14762 and I'm hoping that it will sell to another OF member. What makes this watch special is its beautfiul unrefinished silver sunburst dial in very nice preowned condition. While I have seen many examples of this reference with rectangular bar style hour markers, some with onyx inserts and some without, this example has arrowhead markers which are quite rare for this reference. When this watch catches the sunlight, it really is a thing of beauty. With its handsome thick lugged steel case and matching five row Omega beads of rice bracelet, it's rugged enough for everyday wear but it will also compliment a suit very nicely. A perfect all rounder for someone who just wants a nice vintage Omega on their wrist.
The Details
Omega Seamaster
Reference: 14762
Movement: Caliber 562 automatic with semi quickset date
Serial: 19643134
Year: 1962
Case: 34mm, stainless steel
Dial: Original unrefinished silver sunburst dial with arrowhead markers and faceted Dauphine hands (non-lumed)
Bracelet: Omega 1502 beads of rice with number 11 end links and friction fit vintage style clasp, maximum wrist size 7.25"
Condition
Dial, Bezel & Hands: The dial and bezel are in very good condition and correct for the reference with no flaws other than some very tiny specks that are difficult to see. The faceted hands are also original. The arrowhead markers are the star of the show and reflect light in a way that just has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Framed date window at the three o'clock position. This is a non-lumed dial and handset which I consider to be a plus (no old lume degrading and getting onto the dial or, worse, into the movement).
Case: Original stainless steel case with a diameter of 34mm, a lug to lug measurement of 42mm and a lug width of 18mm. The overall condition of the case is very good. I believe that the case has been lightly polished but it's still well defined and sharp. There are no glaring flaws that I can see and only a few very minor scratches here and there which are to be expected for a vintage piece. The case back shows some minor scratches and the hippocampus medallion shows some wear.
Crown: Original and correct.
Crystal: The crystal is in excellent condition with no scratches, chips or cracks.
Movement: Omega automatic caliber 562 with 24 jewels and a semi quickset date function. Harry advised me that the 562 was serviced in April 2026 and the information below is taken from Harry's sale post with his permission. During the service, the case and bracelet were ultrasonically cleaned, the crystal was polished to reduce scratches, and the movement was fully disassembled, cleaned, oiled, reassembled, and regulated. No parts were replaced during the service, and a new gasket was installed.
Bracelet: Original and correct Omega OEM 1502/11 five row beads of rice bracelet in beautiful condition with a vintage style friction fit clasp bearing the raised Omega logo. The bracelet has no stretch and will fit up to a 7.25 inch wrist. I do not have extra links.
Accessories
This watch comes with a generic box. I do not have the original paperwork.
