Pictures are way too poor to be able to tell if it's a redial. Not fake though.

Mine is a 2767-6 with a 14****** serial number like the movement in the watch you’re considering.

If you like it and, knowing it’ll need a service and if the price is right for you, then go ahead but my view, based on the very poor photos, is that at some stage the watch dial has been repainted. This will adversely effect the value and collectibility of the watch.

I base this opinion on the odd minute markers and the fact that in 1954, Omega were using the coathook S in Seamaster. The crown is also incorrect. There are probably other indicators but I don’t think it’s worth going further.

For the moment, focus on the discoloration around the edge of the dial that starts around 3 and ends around 7. Look closely at the movement too. Does that tell you anything?

Yes, as @gbesq rightly mentions, and I forgot to, the dial is deteriorating. It was probably repainted 50-60 years ago and hasn’t aged well

It might be a good idea to find an example on Google that is exactly like the one you are about to buy.
If you can't, then most likely something is amiss.
Do the research yourself and you will learn much faster.

That dial deterioration may also be evidence of moisture intrusion. Same with the movement.

Yes, I am doing that, but I could not find any model that had those bigger dots on the 3, 6, 9 and 12. But its my first time searching for a vintage omega and it seemed too obvious that something was wrong, but thanks.

Looks like the gold cap is worn off the lugs and that's hard to do.

PASS!

BTW, what makes you think it's a chronometer?

There are rat watches and there are Rat Watches.

Does not make them any cheaper. Most of the time they are more expensive. I was scouting parts for a 55X and hit add to cart rather than add to watchlist. Oh well might as well get it now as to wait a week, month year or decade to get around to ordering it.
