    Hi there,
My first post and what a shame I did not come across this forum first.

I need some help (refer to pictures below), I purchased a blue dial vintage Omega seamaster.

The item description was minimal, however after speaking with the seller I was assured that it was 100% authentic and working. I assumed wrongly it was a ref:166.0216.

Here are my problems with it.
    1. SUPER tiny diameter is ~27 mm
    2. The A in "OMEGA" looks strange similar to "OMEG A". The writing also looks poorly painted on.
    3. No date quick sick set
    4. Very skeptical it is 100% authentic

Obviously I'm dumb for buying this.

If you can help me understand what this is I would be super grateful!

Ladies watch. Looks ok, but I agree that the Omega text is a bit off

Do you think the dial has been repainted?

It looks like a 566.087, but you may already know that if you popped the case back open. These tiny ladies watches have gone out of fashion so not that valuable today.

I think the dial is repainted. The printing doesn't look right and the color scheme doesn't exactly convince me. Hopefully not a huge loss, but let it be a lesson to buy from sellers who are transparent with photos and description on what they're selling.

Big big lesson for me, and your notes on the dial look matchs what I'm thinking. Have not popped the back off yet. Regarding loss, I can get my money back. Thank you

Has all the tells of a repaint.

Some of the ladies movements (18mm) are similar to the really nice 28mm ones for the gents watches. Some Gents watches even use the 680 and 670 movements. They stack vertically. Same build quality, and some were adjusted to positions and may have had chronometer certificates.

I think the word is getting out , and the supplies are dwindling as I am seeing price creep on them. This one is still 2 or 300 too much.

The 16mm and smaller remains overstocked.

It is 2 or 300 too much. If the eBay listing I posted is where OP bought the watch from, he purchased from a mass relisting bot that doubles the price.

I believe this is the original source of the watch: https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c1117152311

Someone bought the watch in Japan in January and then relisted it on Mercari (link no longer works, but was from https://jp.mercari.com/en/item/m59423625134 ), and that is where the eBay bot reseller purchased it to ship to OP.

Was sold on Mercari for ¥44,200 (~$287 based on today's exchange rate), and according to the description, has a "non-genuine bracelet".

Going down the rabbit hole, from an unknown source, I believe this is the same watch being timed at +36 s/d

I would just return and use the option of Not As Described so that the seller has to pay for the return postage to Japan. Seller did not disclose that the bracelet is not genuine, so there's your out. And I really hate those reseller bots so please make this a negative profit transaction for them.

No, it's the seller's fault for using a bot that won't copy a translated description for the listing. Do a return request with Not as Described as the reason since the bracelet is not original to the watch and the listing did not state that information.

    Original Japanese Description:
    【状態】
    多少使用上の小傷等があります。

    ※詳しくは写真をご確認ください

    【サイズ】
    26㎝

    【付属品】
    なし
    (ブレス非純正)

    Translated:
【situation】 There are some minor scratches from use. *Please check the photo for details.
【size】 26cm ***i think they mistaken mm for cm
    【accessories】 none (Bracelet non-genuine)

Your absolutely on the money that's the same one. It really feels like a cheap $200 item.

The description: "All my products are 100% Authentic.".

The watch is genuine, you were not scammed, there was no misrepresentation, you just didn't do your homework, you got a genuine Omega watch with a shiny blue refinished dial.
