Hello everyone,

may I have your help regarding Omega Seamaster 300 big triangle dial?.

Is it true that all the 60's dial must have holes at 12 and 6 indexes?

I have seen examples legit examples with no holes or only one hole at 6.

Tell us where and from whom you heard that! Makes no sense to me.

apparently there should be pin holes at 12 and 6, but I have seen many examples from legit dealers with no holes (or sometimes just one at 6).

Perhaps I should just observe this conversation rather than rather than comment as it is far from my expertise. But it does seem odd to me that Omega would have originally sold these watches with two pin holes in the dial.
So are they caused by a degradation over time? Or is my first assertion incorrect?

The dials do not have holes in them at all, ever. (Unless it’s the Center hole) 😁
The lume does.

There are pinholes on the back at the exact same positions as on the front where the lume is (at 6 and 12).

And the visibility of this pinholes depends on the thickness of the applied lume. There are different types of application of lume (thin or thicker layer) and they differ according to the time when the watch was made.

There is no confirmed statement regarding the point of this pinholes but for me the best conclusion is that they are some sort of alignment for the lume application.

Well that’s interesting. I learn something new every day…and I previously owned one of these!
