Hi guys just signed up

I have won an auction for said watch above and wanted to gather your thoughts?? Is the watch real genuine?? How rare is it?? Why no seamaster engrained logo at the base of the watch?? Is it normal for no date dial ??
Is their a website I can check the serial ??

Cheers Wunderkinder 😀

Can you share the link to the auction.

I think it’s a redial.

In fact if I’m reading the reference correctly it’s a 135.070? This is not a seamaster 600, it’s a Geneve so this is likely a silver dial Geneve that’s been redialed in the style of the very popular Technic dial seamaster 600

I thought it was going to be one of those.

It’s certainly a redial and the description does state the dial has been restored. I find this slightly dishonest as to some, “restored” may suggest it’s the original dial finish that has been cleaned. This isn’t the case here I’m afraid. The dial has been stripped back to bare metal and repainted in a style that is not appropriate for this model.

In value terms, I’d say it’s worth around half of what you paid. However the eBay market clearly disagrees as at least one other bidder pushed you to almost £800.

The most important question is whether or not you like it given what you now know.

It was also described as being from 1980-1989, with a 25M serial# and 601 cal. Bracelet color listed as silver. Stated it has invisible minor scratches, how could you tell if they are minor if they are invisible? The seller is so full of crap, I wouldn’t buy it either.

I also get the feeling that the watch is missing a bezel...

Here’s another. Same seller I believe. Again, the seller says the dial is restored but this implies returning the dial to its original state. This isn’t the case once again as this watch has never been a seamaster 600, it’s a Geneve. Just an incorrect redial of what was likely a standard silver sunburst Geneve to maximise profit.

The case is also described as “top condition” which it most definitely is not.
