Hello - recently came off my bike, nothing serious but the bezel on my 2021 SMP now has a nick on it, right on the 12 position. A bit annoying - can a bezel be replaced at reasonable cost ?

Thanks

I think you will need to find a watchmaker with an Omega parts account. But frankly, since the watch is currently under warranty, maybe it would be best just to have it replaced at a service center. If you send the watch in, I'm sure they will quote you a price.

Alternatively, you could just smooth it down with a jeweler's file and sandpaper, and have it replaced at the first service. If you wear the watch for active pursuits, any bezel you put on it is likely to accumulate some damage over time.

Probably something @Archer would know but I wonder if the ceramic insert can be separated from the steel bezel without damaging it, I imagine as a complete piece it isn’t cheap but you would think the steel isn’t much. That said I vaguely remember in the days of the aluminium bezels they were sold as a single piece (bezel and insert) and we’re far from cheap even then, as @Trev bought one about 10 years ago.

The bezel is only sold as a complete unit, so no individual parts are available. This one is going to be around $1,100 US, so....ouch.

Now if the OP is very lucky, and his bezel pup glows blue rather than the green it should be, a new bezel would be covered under warranty...so what colour is the glow?

Thank you for your comments

The colour is green !

I will take it to our dealership and see what he says - maybe a little work with a file will make it easier to look at and that will be enough. Shame it is right on the 12 position.

I clean it with a cloth everyday - I think it needs a clean with a toothbrush before taking it to the dealership !

Thanks
Matt

And of course you realize Otto Frei was gouging people like mad back then, so the real prices were even lower...

I used to keep dive bezels in stock for the more popular models - should have bought them by the dozen back then.

Took my watch into the local dealership (where I bought it from) and it was repaired in a few minutes - free of charge. Some sort of emery cloth on a pad (shaped like a stick !)

Took the sharp edges off it and made it wearable ! brilliant.

That will do for now until it gets serviced. Fantastic result.

$1,100? Ouch indeed.
