Well, I was finally able to get my hands on one. I have to say, I wasn't disappointed.

I was really tempted by this one, but the lack of the display case back deterred me. Congrats on a gorgeous watch.

You know what would have been really cool as if they had carved Poseidon into the rotor....

Could that not be addressed by swapping it out for one of the ones from the standard black- or blue-dialed version?

I asked my SA about this (but referring to the Worldtimer) and he said it might not be possible because they might be different thicknesses, may use different gaskets, etc.

IMHO, he was just feeding me a load to not tell me directly they won't do it.

always a possibility, and in some cases parts are only available to order on an exchange basis, it seems. Apparently that’s the case with the Seamaster Spectre bezel, for example.

I’m sure some of the experts here (with parts accounts) can answer with certainty if the case backs from the standard Seamaster 300 would fit the SB

I've never even tried switching out backs. I love the color, but I really wanted a see through case back.

Again fabulous watch!

It sure is! I am fairly certain that you could put the display case back from the second generation Heritage on this watch, I don't think there's any differences in the cases but I could be wrong. That said, mine sees so much wrist time and the dial is so fantastic it just doesn't matter to me what's on the back, although I do like the steel engraving quite a bit.

I usually like open case backs like in my 321 but the closed engraved case back on my 75th planet ocean is one of the reasons I love it. The engraving is so nice it must have a pic

I absolutely love it and my pic of the bunch. Tried it on at the OB recently and if I didn’t have two others coming soon probably would have walked out with it.

Looks fantastic!! I have had 300's on wrist, but not for serious evaluation. How do you find the lug to lug works for you.

The lug to lug is 48 mm, which I have read is the same as Speedmaster 1861 generation lug-lug measurements (but 1mm greater vs the current 3861). The second generation Heritage uses a female Centrelink which means that it wears true to the 48 mm measurement.

It's a very comfortable watch to wear!
