Omega Seamaster 300 green being discontinued?

I would hope the PO gets an update first. I'm not sure what they'd change on the SMP now to justify a price increase aside from a lumed bezel...

Maybe some subtle faceting on the indices and hands, along with the lumed bezel. Any applicable movement upgrades too (and perhaps slimming down).

When it comes to lumed bezels, at this point I believe they should come standard on any diver considered luxury.

Looks like it is currently available to add-to-basket on Omega’s site right now?

Holy crap! You're right. Kind of makes this discussion from the ADs feel misguided!

Why would being able to add to basket now mean it can’t or isn’t being discontinued in the future?

I went to the omega boutique in Sydney yesterday to pick up a green rubber strap and asked them, he said it’s entirely possible that it could be discontinued but had only heard the same rumours.

He said a lot of what Omega has been doing lately is surprising them, things are changing. Production levels of certain watches are lower than others and it’s not entirely demand driven.

Of course, you’re right, but it does seem a little strange that a watch that is supposed to be so hard to manufacture that they are thinking of discontinuing is now available on the website.

It’s always been available on the website if it’s in stock. It doesn’t mean people can just start mass ordering online, there could be 5 watches available, once they are sold it will show as unavailable again

Oh interesting, maybe stock issues...? I don't know what Omega usually do when a model gets discontinued. I don't really see them doing it until a new seamster model is released

Managed to pop into my local AD, must say very impressed & probably my favourite iteration, fits my wrist much better on the strap rather than the bracelet.

If you guys actually keep an eye on your country's Omega website, you'll see watches become available and then be unavailable the next day. I've seen this at least a dozen times on the US website regarding this specific model. Last week it was available and then it wasn't and now it says contact a OB. Seems odd for a watch for which discontinuation is allegedly impending.

Where can I read about this difficulty of producing the green Seamaster or even green ceramic or ZrO2? I've looked and found nothing over these past few months.

I mean the truth couldn't possibly be that the warning of discontinuation is a sales tactic to sell a watch that an AD or OB already has in their case could it?

Revived thread to make petty comment:

Wow, so crazy that even though the AD said they are discontinuing the green Seamaster WAY back in May of 2023 that it's still available on Omega's website.
That's just crazy, almost like the AD's have NO idea what they are talking about.

So I stopped by my local OB to have a link taken out of my Speedy and to ask about my spot on the 321 Ed White. I was looking at a white Seamaster 300 and the guy I deal with all the time at the OB told me I might want to think about the green Seamaster if I liked it as it is being discontinued. Well I like green watches as I love my Hulk so he showed me one that was sold but I could just see the color of green etc. I fell in love with it especially on the green rubber strap. He said he could most likely get me one in a few days or a little longer. My question though is has anyone heard of the green SMP being discontinued? Not really the best time for me to be buying another watch but if it’s being discontinued, then I definitely will make the funds available.

Then don't buy any watch at this time.
