Guys,

Does anyone know how much does it cost to change the actual bezel ? My ceramic blue insert is fine however the bezel became bidirectional. Watchmaker ordered a spring which is cheap and we are hoping that it will help however there is a slim chance I will need to change the actual bezel. Anyone knows the cost for that ?

Thank you in advance.

You won’t need to change the bezel, unless the watchmaker damages it somehow. The tabs have been broken off the click spring, which allows the bezel to turn both ways. This happens when the bezel is forced somehow into the counter clockwise direction.

Cheers, Al

We did order new click spring from Omega so hopefully it will help.

@Archer have you seen a big price increase for parts since the pandemic started? I dropped off my Seamaster 2254.50 at the OB for a full service recently and they got back to me today to let me know that a replacement bezel is $298.

It’s not since the pandemic started, it’s been going on for a number of years now. There used to be very modest annual price increases on all parts across the board. Just a small percentage so nothing big.

A number of years ago this changed, and these small widespread increases were replaced with much larger increases on select parts. Sometimes parts would double or more overnight at random times through the year.

It makes it very difficult for me to give people prices that don’t require a whole lot of qualifications, so having to tell people that the price could double or more tomorrow. If someone needs a new part like a dial for example, I’ll suggest they pay me up front and I order the part even before the watch gets to me, in order to lock down the price.

When I look back even 10 years ago, the prices then were so much less than they are now. It’s crazy...

So how much it might cost to change entire bezel on 212.30.41.20.03.001 ? I appreciate your input.

You won't need to, so it's not a concern...
