Hi,

I have a beautiful Omega Seamster from the late 50's. It has the beautiful 285 calibre.

As mentioned many times, as a derivative of the famed 30T2, this is as good as it gets when thinking manual movements.

I've added a genuine ostrich strap to this, which looks really amazing on it. The dial is silver but not a dark silver.

Overall in really amazing condition.

Asking $1195 OBO

Please email me at [email protected]

Thanks!

Hi Shaun,

I was told no, that it was original. But I honestly couldn't say yes or no for sure. Its from the 50's and while I do see some patina, sometimes one expects more... what sold me on it is that its in really nice condition. I don't see anything unattractive or anything that would suggest "bad work" if in fact it was redone, know what I mean?

So, it's really hard to say. I wish I knew how to better identify things like that, but as I say, the watch is pretty cool nonetheless 😀

It's not an original dial. The SWISS MADE would be below the minute/second track and the words would be closer together.

Unfortunately it is a refinished dial. You can see from the 'swiss made' position very high in the dial.

Round S dates the dial to at least early to mid '60s. Nice period piece, but not 100% original.
