I bought this about ten years ago for a good price. It’s solid 18k. It’s a 562 cal I believe. It has nice beefy lugs. The watch itself is running and in great shape. I believe it to be all original. Only other time I saw one was on instagram many years ago. I have a second one without the date also in 18k. I’m just looking for a little history behind it and what it would bring in today’s market. My guess is 3-4k. You don’t really see the seamasters in this case too often in a solid 18k.

Photos aren't that sharp to properly asses the dial and case. Cal. 562? You sure, since this is a no date variant and probably a 552. You can pop open the caseback if you know how to do that, and let us see the reference and movement.

So.. these pictures ARE of the second one without the date..? Check if you got the pictures mixed up. Also better pictures of the dial necessary. From this picture the S in Seamaster looks all kinds of wonky

I tried to take a better picture of the dial. I don’t know how to open the case back and I wouldn’t want to risk messing up. It’s must be a 552 then. I never see these come up for sale.

Yup, the dial has been repainted at some point in its life, unfortunately. In the process it was relumed, so were the hands.

Since you’re asking for value: @Dan S is indeed correct, for any collector the value will be scrap plus 100-200&/$/£ for the movement, I’m afraid. With current gold prices, that won’t be that far of the lower end of your own guess, though. That’s the good news.

Could always hedge your bets and hang on to it to see if the gold prices go up even more that way you might be able to squeeze a bit more money from it when/if you decide to scrap the case
