Anyone know if the dial is a redial or not please?
Concerns are that there is no T on the Swiss made and also no mention of seamaster on the dial either

How much impact does it have on the value if it is?

Are there any versions where it wouldn't say seamaster on the dial?

Yes earlier versions might not. Need info from inside to further assess

Don't assume this watch should be identical to the Swiss examples of this model you may see. This is a UK cased model, the leading 5 on the second part of the case number tells us this. It is prob made by Shackman and Son, AKA D S & S

The box is dated 1970 if that helps?

Yes solid 9k and I believe it is a UK model made by Shackman and Son.
Does that mean the dial is ok even though it says Swiss made and is missing the T to indicate it has lume where we can see some lume dots?

Dunno. All the other hits on google for 166.5032, and there are quite a few have both the SM text and T marks but that doesn't make this one wrong. The fonts are right for a ~1970 dial so it could just be a variation. I know the selling organisation pretty well at a senior level and consider them honest so there wont be any deliberate attempt to deceive I would have thought. It is a little pricey though. The gold price has gone though the roof in the past couple of years. Not that long ago you'd expect to pay more like a grand for one of these. Some of the extra may be down to servicing if it indeed has been serviced but it's still a tad steep to my eye. They will have lent against this at maybe £500-600 at a guess so they had some room to make it run right!

Thanks, helpful to know.
What sort of price do you think it should be?

If serviced I would think £1,500 would be fair. If not, more like £1,250. But what I think is fair and what you can buy a watch for might not always correlate!

Here is one that went on ebay for £950 earlier in December:

Cheers, they said it was looked over and didn't need servicing so will see it in person and decide.
If the dial is a redial will that reduce the price by about 20% more or so?

Not serviced, then. Personally, I wouldn’t offer more than 1k GBP given the 9k gold and soft case.

If redialed, the value is near zero. Maybe 100 GBP for parts.

Edit: sorry the gold is probably 500 or so. So 600 GBP if redialed.
