Up for sale is a very nice Omega Seamaster 200 reference 166.068 aka "Poppy". I never thought I’m putting this one up for sale but the truth is, I rarely wear it and my taste changed over the last couple of years. So that this Seamaster 200 doesn’t really fit in anymore. Back when I purchased the watch from the original owners son, he told me, that his father was a German Bundeswehr diver and after his service in the forces, he joined the fire brigade in Hamburg as a rescue diver. That’s where this watch saw quite some action. Unfortunately I have no documents to support this story, so I guess, it’s not much more than a lovely anecdote. After I got the watch, the movement was completely serviced but the rest was left untouched. So everything that you see, is as it was and original to my eyes. The case has some signs of wear but the factory finish is still very present. The acrylic crystal is absolutely crack free and in stunning condition with just some surface wear. Crown and case back are correctly signed with a cello tape strip attached to protect the engraving. Now the dial has developed some patina on the left hand side as you can see. In my opinion the lume has developed a great color and is completely original. The mineral crystal has some scratches but I didn’t want to swap it out. The movement is correctly signed and also all original as far as my research brought me. Movement number is 31.2 million and fits into the narrow correct range for the 166.068. It comes on a vintage Rodania racing strap with generic buckle. Did I miss anything? Feel free to dm me. Price is 2250€ including the strap. Shipment at buyers cost. The watch is located in Germany.
