Omega Seamaster 14700 2 SC Question

Hello! I inherited some watches from a deceased uncle, one of them a Omega 14700 2 SC. It seems to work and keep time well but I haven't done any official tests for more than an hour. I'm guessing it has not been serviced in at least 10-20 years but I'm just guessing. I'm interested in anyone's guess on approximate value and where I should sell it. Thanks in advance!

That case is a disaster from the bracelet with the sprung ends. Dial and movement aren't bad, and he must have bought it overseas because there's a 24-jewel adjusted movement.

Why would you sell it? No family members to give it to if you don't want it?

I think you might struggle to get $500.

Hi Steve, welcome to OF and sorry for your loss. Best place to sell is eBay, start at .99 and let the market decide what it’s worth, you will get a few hundred out of it. It been pretty well polished down in its life and the spring loaded endlinks of the stretchy bracelet has ground the lugs down pretty harshly, so it won’t appeal to hard core collectors but for someone wanting an old Omega, it will appeal.
Do nothing to it but take good pics and an honest description and you’ll do fine.

The crown isn't correct and the seconds hand has been clipped, most likely to accommodate a generic crystal that's too shallow to allow the hand to rotate.

It isn't worth fixing those issues as they'll cost as much as you're likely to receive in an eBay auction, but you should be aware of them when communicating with potential buyers.

24-jewel adjusted movement.

That auto bridge isn't correct for a 24j movement.

@SteveP93 could you post a pic of the movement with the automatic weight swung the other way? You should be able to see the movement number beneath an Omega character, guessing it's a 550.

I had a SMDV with the 550, I believe the extra jewels are absent from the automatic works
