OMEGA rubber strap fitting question

Hi, I'm considering picking up an Omega that comes with the black rubber strap. I've got thin wrists and wonder how you modify the strap to fit with the clasp?

From pictures it appears you connect the two ends of the rubber to the clasp? I see holes in the strap too but if the rubber section is too long for a small wrist do you have to cut the strap?

Please post a picture of the strap so we can help you. Most modern Omega rubber straps come with a tang buckle or deployant and works like a regular leather strap and does not need to be cut. But Omega did make some straps (and they are still available) that need to be cut. Without more info, no one can really answer your question.

Thanks, this is the strap although the metal clasp isn't shown in the pic.

I got a rubber strap with my new SMP300m. What I didn’t realise beforehand was these the there are two versions of the rubber strap-one for the tang buckle and another for the (pricey) deployant clasp. I chose the deployant version. See the below pic, where you are able to slide one end of the clasp along the holes (the other end is fixed).

Here's a better picture of the clasp mechanism

That strap has to be cut in order to get a proper fit.

thank you; that's what I thought; a shame as its a pain if I ever did want to resell; no intention of selling but always wary of the need in the future

just cut the strap and enjoy it and don’t worry about selling in the future. It’s not that hard for a buyer to get a new strap if it is too short. They may not even want it on that strap anyway. These are Omegas not Rolexes — we buy to enjoy, not to resell for a profit! 😉

Yep was more the fact I’m not keen on the strap and have concerns that the watch might be too large for my wrists. I’ve actually cooled on it a lot having seen the videos and how high it sits on the wrist.

I'm not sure if that rubber strap & clasp are genuine. They might be from a fake Omega, or the watch you are looking at is fake. The only rubber strap I'm aware of that Omega makes that is "destructive" to size would be the PloProf. I could be wrong as Omega sometimes randomly updates parts without telling anyone, but I can't find a picture of a strap like that one online.

Here's some Google pics showing the rubber strap using what all other rubber straps use.....

Okay, nevermind. After a little research, it's a strap from a Z-33 Speedmaster.. thought it was from the Speedmaster Reduced. Don't see those often so that was a little curve ball when I saw Speedmaster on the strap. Yes, it's a destructive installation where you need to cut it to size.

Thank you. I’ve gone off it as it’s simply too thick and with my own small wrist size it wouldn’t wear well. I really like the red lcd but after watching a lot of video and closely looking at the pictures I came to the inclusion it’s not for me. The destructive strap simply meant I wouldn’t even take a gamble.
