I would probably have gone for an OEM, but if I recall correctly, Omega didn't make one for the 3rd generation Seamaster Diver. At least I've never seen one for the specific model I have. Plenty for the PO and Ploprof, however. And the expansion of the Diver line in 2018 was an opportunity to offer more strap options.
OEM is the best choice. I found mine (with deployant clasp) for USD400.00 on a sales forum. Basically the price of a new trangle buckle version in a Omega Boutique...
For aftermarket, Zealande if you want an intergrated strap. For my Peter Blake, i bought a few Montreux and so far i'm happy for the price (not integrated though)
I've got OEM and a Zealande. Honestly don't see much difference between them, though I prefer the OEM keeper. I think I paid around CAD 200.00 for the Zealande and bout twice that for the OEM.
There's also a Vanguard model for the SMP, but the quality isn't there, IMO, and the one I ordered arrived in pretty rough shape, and they were decidedly unhelpful.
You can also skip the Omega buckle and just get the excellent strap on its own and save 100.00 or so.
Hi All,
I’ve always worn the titanium matching bracelet from new and didn’t want to shell out for an OEM rubber for this every day wearer in case I didn’t find the rubber strap comfortable, so thought I’d try this much cheaper version from Zulu Diver first. Fits well with curved spring bars and, now some 4-months in, quite happy with it and don’t think I’ll bother with the OEM.
I just wanted a plain rubber strap for diving. Did not care if the rubber hugs the curve of case. I went with Barton for $25. They give two straps with one extra long to wrap around my wet suit when worn. It is more comfortable than my Omega $500 strap with deployant clasp. I can buy twenty in different colors for that price.
Most important to me was strength and reliable strap. Same strap for 7 years, no cracks or tears in the rubber. Just new springs bars.
