Omega Rookie, do I Buy?

Hi all,

I’m pretty new to vintage watches, so apologies in advance if I miss anything obvious - just looking for some guidance before I make a purchase.

I’m considering this as my first vintage Omega. Seller is asking $450.

Details I have:

• Ref: 135.003-62-SC
• Movement: cal. 286 (serial ~20.1M)
• Gold-plated case with visible wear
• Crown may be a replacement
• No confirmed service history

My main question is around the dial - it looks original to me with some aging/patina, but I don’t have the experience to be confident.

Also, does the overall condition seem reasonable for the price?

Really appreciate any input - just trying to learn and avoid making a bad first purchase.

If you like the watch in its shown condition and enjoy wearing it, then maybe try to get the price down a bit and buy it.

It's good to recognize that with the amount of wear it's not an easy watch to sell forward. And future value growth is not that certain because it would probably need quite a lot of work done to get it sold. Though you never know what and when something catches buyer's eye. And I'm on the harsh side of evaluating worn gold plated watch because it's something I don't buy at all for my own collection (only steel or solid gold).
