    Hello,

I would like to share with you my only solid gold watch which is an Omega ref. 2369 powered by the famous 30T2 PC movement. It has a 14k solid gold case with "leaf" lugs and features a "caramel" dial. I found the reference on Omega's archives website: https://www.omegawatches.com/fr/watch-omega-other-omega-oj-2369

    omega-vintage-other-oj-2369-l.jpg

The dial on mine is little bit different, the outer track not having two "circles" (the innermost circle is missing on mine).

Here are some pictures of the back and movement (movement serial 1087xxxx and back 1076xxxx which point to 1944, consistent with Omega website):

The dial shows some patina and some small "spots" but I really like it's color, seems quite uncommon . It is keeping amazing time as well, pretty amazed by that as I do not know it's service history. It starts almost instantly after few turns of the crown and keeps exceptional time.

What do you guys think about my exemplar? Everything looks to be correct, I am just not sure if the crown is an original or replacement one. Apart from that I cannot spot anything strange. I am not an expert at all though so feel free to comment.

I wish you all a great weekend ;)

Hi @LRX_12 , I think the watch looks cool and honest with that patina.

It is one of these most "extreme" cases, but I think it gives a kind of unique look.

If I may make a suggestion, I think a new strap in a similar colour patern (but not identical) to the dial will make the overall look of the watch better. Black kind of interrupts it.

Something like a light camel tone or a very light brown or brown will talk more to the golden tone of the case and caramel tone of the dial!

    Best wishes,

    Rudi

Thanks for the compliment and suggestion @Rudi99 ! I actually bought it with that strap and I did not have many occasions to wear that watch so never bothered about the strap. A tan/caramel strap should indeed make it shine!
Do you maybe have an idea about a nice strap that could fit the dial? Any suggestion about a particular model/brand?

Well that is simply gorgeous. My watch has developed the same color as yours! Do you know the original color of these references (back when they left the factory)?
Could you please give me the reference of your straps? I imagine such strap could be a perfect match for my exemplar as well!

I am pretty sure that mine at least were a two-tone silver, which is common to see on these still.

I can't remember where I got the straps from, but they weren't that great anyway - you are better off finding something more refined for your beautiful piece :)

If you are located in Europe, you should have a look at https://www.uhrenarmband-versand.de/Uhrenbandversand-h997-Uhrenarmbaender.html

There you can use the search engine and select exactly what you want, like kind of leather, colour, kind of stitching etc.

You can get quite lost because their selection is really huge but there is definetely something out there for you!

Big fan of the deep patina over here as well! Mine is on a medium brown Hirsch Osiris. CC04B611-D301-4694-B7A9-8124CCAD5719.jpeg

Nice watch OP! I like the even-number dials, and mine says hello. Those lugs on yours are a bit special too IMHO: thanks for presenting it. And as far as the caramel dial and the strap suggestions you've been getting, I can see @Rudi99's point, and I think you may have started something now!

Yep I actually browse this exact site yesterday searching for a camel strap. And indeed they have too many references so I got lost :) Good thing is that my choice is reduced since I need straps suitable for fixed lugs ! I quite like the Rios1931 Arizona in cognac (@sleepyastronaut yours is nice but I will go with a lighter shade of brown) with "clip" that can be exchanged easily.

    @mrbreen : very nice patina !

@TimeODanaos : beautiful caramel dial! Are you going to try a light brown /camel strap ?

@Mr Vo : looks like another variant of the ref. 2369 as it has numbers on the subdial. Yours is similar to the one pictured on Omega's website. The font of the numbers is different than on mine as well.

Look for a Rios1931 strap that's described as "Art Manuel," for example, the Colorado (Buffalo Leather), Oxford (Vintage Leather), or Samara (Russian Leather.)

The Rios1931 Art Manuel and Hand Stitched straps are handmade whereas the others just come off an assembly line.

Thanks for the suggestion @sleepyastronaut. The thing is that I need "open ended" straps as my piece has fixed lugs. Some Rios1931 straps have a "clip" system that works with my watch but I am afraid that none of the Art Manuel have this feature.

I usually buy Hirsch straps for watches with fixed lug bars. I don't like the clip on ends.

    Hello @LRX_12

and thanks for sharing your beautiful watch, i just wanted to ask you a couple of questions, to validate a theory i read in some threads about this kind of patina on dials:

    1) Is that a one-owner watch, i.e. did you buy it when it was new and has it always been with you, or did you buy it more recently such as the past 10-15 years?

    2) If the watch has always been with you, are you a smoker or have you been living in an environment where cigarette smoke was not uncommon?

    thanks a lot :)
    Duccio
