Hi Chris and welcome to the forum. The dial is what we refer to as a “fantasy” dial- it never existed on this watch, and has been repainted.
As collectors we try to discourage people from buying these as they are meant to deceive people new to the hobby. But if you find it attractive and it’s cheap, then go for it-but know going in that it’s not original and there is no collectible value in it. Plus I assume there is no guarantee on mechanical condition, so you will have to factor in the cost of a service which many of us would consider throwing good money after bad.

These dials have been popular coming out of the East over the last decade. They are trying to look like a Ranchero/Railmaster/Seamaster-Technical, and they are doing it en-mass. Sadly they are scrapping what may have been perfectly nice watches (the cases and movements are Omega) trying to squeeze a little more out of unsuspecting buyers who think they are real. The other thing to worry about is the state of the movement. I have heard horror stories about opening case backs and smelling lighter fluid, or missing/cobbled parts.

I've seen a couple of these and have been tempted. I really like that dial.

Aside from the Ranchero/Railmaster/Seamaster-Technical, are there any other examples of this dial? Whether Omega or not? Searching eBay for "black dial" isn't much help.

There were a few cheaper dive watches that did dials like this- but few in a non-diver style.
