haven’t opened it up yet to see because I have no tools I’m not a jeweler.

here are some pictures etc that might help

A photo of the dial might be the most helpful to get the feedback you're looking to receive.

No dial pictures? Can’t tell you too much from pictures of the sides and back.

Can’t really tell you much from these photos except that the case appears to be heavily polished — not a good thing. What we really need to see are close up, clearly focused photos of the dial taken in natural light. I would strongly suggest that you have a qualified watchmaker open the case and avoid doing it yourself. Rancheros contain a lot of radium based lume, some of which has likely disintegrated. Breathing in those particles can be VERY hazardous to your health as they are still very radioactive.

Definitely good to know. I dropped some pictures indoors down below. I don’t doubt this watch was worn heavily

Case is better than I initially thought. It’s just the case back that appears overpolished. This is the central second hand version, case reference
CK 2996. I would need to see closer, more detailed photos of the dial text, but my first impression is that the dial is original and authentic. The hands are pretty heavily oxidized. As for value, if the watch is authentic and in good mechanical and cosmetic condition, $5,500-$7,500 USD would be a reasonable range.

I was thinking the dial was authentic too. I just don’t have my watch eye quite yet. I always enjoy a second opinion aswell.

Very nice watch from what I can tell based on your pictures. What was the asking price?

First of all : Set the time to 1.45. Then a close up picture from all writing on that dial. No flash. Outside day light. The Radium is not a problem ; even breathing in some miniscule amount like on Watchdials , will not kill you . Just don't lick that Dial or Hands . Value? Subjective. Exactly what someone is prepared to pay ...

Yeah I don’t have much of a price on it yet. Haven’t even had it opened up to check everything out.
Shoot me a pm if interested.

I like that response. Quick and to the point.
im not familiar with a lot of expensive vintage watches, do I just turn the crown? I know you can hand crank it and it just does its own thing. But how do I set a specific time?

To set the time, pull the crown out until it stops. Then rotate the crown to move the hands. Set the time and then push the crown back in. Wind the watch by turning the crown clockwise until it stops. Don’t force it past the stopping point.
