Clearly a redial. Beat up movement tells the story.

Does your friend know you've posted his watch here on OF? Maybe he does'nt want to know.

Yes. Of course.
If your friend paid real money for this, I would tell him to take it back to the guy who sold it to him and demand his money back.

Is the bracelet a reproduction also?
Endlinks aren’t factory.

What it looks like you have here is a frankenredial. The movement is a genuine Omega movement (although looking rather abused) and that’s probably about all that is as it left Omega. It may be a factory case (need to see the inside of the case back) and the dial may have been a factory silver dial under that paint at some point. But this watch didn’t leave the factory looking like that.

Here are the photos of the case back. There is some writing just above the wording that I tried to capture as well. Thank you

Does this seriously belong to a friend of yours or is it yours? No shame if you got shafted on this- we have all paid the “noob tax” for being impulsive and not doing our homework. Sometimes it’s just a spanking, sometimes it’s a head wound.

Thinking the same because... if I was an awesome friend who loaned out my watch to a buddy who then posted it on a watch forum -and- started pulling it apart to get opinions... well, I'd be a less than awesome friend the next time my buddy and me hung out together.

I'm being honest with you as I hope everyone is being honest with me. I really like the watch and watches in general. My friend and I both enjoy vintage watches and I wanted to get more information. I asked for his permission to post and will take it down if he tells me to.

Does this matter? The OP is asking for opinions about the watch, not about friendship.....

I believe you, just didn’t want you to think we would judge you too harshly if it was you- we all make mistakes.
Now if you started the thread with “hey, how much is this watch worth?”- then it may have gone differently.

Your friend got swindled unless he knew it was dressed up to be something it wasn’t and paid very little for it. If he got it recently, and it was from a reputable “dealer” at a watch show- then I would suggest he contact them and direct them to this thread.

Technically, no - of course not... I was adding onto the reply from another OF member above.
But for me, and not that it would matter to you (apparently), it would... because before the OP replied that he had the owner's permission to do so (posting here, asking about his friend's watch and removing the caseback) I wouldn't be pleased with a friend sleuthing out my possessions as it's a low brow, and frankly a bullshit, thing to do unless I had first Okayed it.

In any event, the OP has clarified this.

I'm the friend who owns the watch and it's 100% original. You people know nothing.
