Omega R17.8SC Caliber ID & Dating, 1940s WWII Era

I believe it is a R17.8SC caliber in a press in case, but what year is it from. And this is the only example I have found with this type of case.
Anybody knows if it is a legitimate WWII watch?

1940s from the case serial. But if you want more accuracy, post the movement serial.

Looks like a Ref. 2327. Not sure what is meant by “legitimate WWII watch”. It was probably made during the war years, but I do not believe it was an issued watch.

Yeah, I don't think it was military issue, but I think it's from the same time. Just curious, and also wanted to find resources to check for such things.
