Omega R17.8? Model? Year?

Hi, i've bought this watch for about $100, and its working really smooth, but i cant find info about it, i think the movement is a R17.8, but it is a Wadsworth case and i could not find anything similar to this watch, help pls

Looks like US collection. Serial puts it very roughly into the late 40s/early 50s.

What's to confirm? It's an Omega movement. It has the reference you already shared. It came out of an Omega watch.

According to Dr. Ranfft, after Omega revised the calibre numbers, this one became a calibre 300, introduced in the late 1940s. This is a guess, but likely discontinued by the late 1950s after styles of men’s watches changed. Case is gold filled with 80 microns plating. One micron is one millionth of a meter. So it was a quality plated case. If you need to know more, ask specific questions.
