@JACK G great to know about the crystal, as i have been wondering why my dial appears lighter than most others.

When I bought my Ploprof(s) I became a little obsessed in the detail which is nothing unusual for me as I am OCD at the best of times 馃榾.

Apart from the dial and bezel variations another Ploprof anomaly is that some examples have a squared off hour hand rather than a pointed one. I spent a long time tracking down my square hand version as this little quirk appealed to me.

So is the crystal variation random....or is it that one particular type causes the "blueing" effect and one does not....and if so what are the types/Ref #s in question? Thanks.

and one last question.......@JACK G..............is your mk3 dial tritium of Superluminova?

Love your book!

Sorry but I cannot answer if crystal variation is random as I have only been able to check out the three watches I had.

The dial is original to the watch and the markers have a lightly greenish hue which matches the bezel but I am not 100% sure - Serial no. 31'982'***

I had it serviced by Omega/Bienne in 2011 but dial, bezel and hands were refitted rather than replaced.

Thanks for your compliment regarding the 'book' but I think you may be confusing me with JonW the author of the Ploprof book.

@RawArcher glad to see that @JACK G dial also has a greenish hue to the tritium lume.

I am not the only one! And appears I have the crystal variant too.

So great to learn more about my watch.

@Taddyangle: according to your abstract, which bracelet was it supplied with? I wonder if any originally came on mesh, or if this was always a later addition.

It states "not mentioned" under the bracelet section on my abstract.

The Ploprof looks good on anything. And I will use your question as an excuse to post more pics on my Ploprof. 馃榾

While I love the look of the Isofrane, I don't find too comfy. The mesh is great, but the 1162 has something about it.

More pics? Well ok...

Interesting! Mine says 1162/162...why would yours not have a bracelet listed, less than a month after mine?

In any case, I still have the original bracelet it came with. Sadly, the little connector hook broke off years ago. Can't seem to find the correct clasp (most 1162s have the hook on the end rather than a hole in the middle...I was given to understand that was a later and superior design).

Yes it is! I'm afraid to wear it 'in the wild', though (there's a small crack in the rubber that might turn into a tear at some point), so I keep it around for sentimental reasons and the occasional photoshoot.
