New to me 2200.50 Planet Ocean with new Omega rubber Planet Ocean strap + OEM bracelet. It's not perfect but I didn't pay a perfection price. Very happy with it. Because it was serviced in 2024 I was wondering about whether the 2500 movement was upgraded to version B or C. From my research it appears the A version beat at 28,800bph. It does not appear to be beating at that rate. The app reading bph says it's beating at 25,200 so my guess it was updated to the C version. I opened the back but don't have the expertise to know if you can see if the movement was upgraded during the 2024 servicing.

It should be pretty solid after a 2024 factory service. They’re a nice piece with a slim case by modern standards, enjoy it mate

The bracelet that came with it seems to be a 20mm lug width bracelet. Can I ask what the model # of your bracelet is? Mine is 1579/951. The end links are obviously 20mm, not 22mm

How do you find the 45.5mm size? Always wanted one, but not sure how it'd look on my 7inch wrist.

On my 7.25" wrist, it wears fine. I prefer a larger watch. To me it's comfortable. I'm wearing it mostly with an Omega rubber strap.

Congratulations! Visually, the date font it looks like the 2500C, but you’d need to check the serial number for sure. The end links should be stamped 951 and they are easy to secure at an Omega Boutique.

I’ve had many for nearly a decade, a 2500D XL. Although I still love its design, I’ve become obsessed that the 45.5 watch is too big on my 7.3 inch wrist and I should find a 42 2500. The 45.5 fits well on straps, but as soon as I put on the bracelet (and I’m a bracelet fan), the end links just protrude too far on the wrist. That said, I think the original Planet Ocean 2500 is an Omega’s classic.

Good to see this - I think the differences made by e.g. 3 mm extra are way overestimated. The 2500C / 45.5 is great, and yes classic - it all depends how you wear it! (7.75" wrist, increasingly unusual suit and formal shirt day)

Thank you for this. The end links are stamped 951 but you can clearly see the 1mm gap between the end link and the lug, telling me the end link is 20mm where I need 22mm

Hmm… that does look wrong for sure and I wonder whether bracelet is authentic. Part #0026ST951 is the correct part number for the 22mm end link for the Planet Ocean 2500 45.5. The entire bracelet is 1579/951. In fact, I just got new end links for mine at the San Diego Omega boutique.

That's what I was wondering too. I'm meeting a guy this afternoon selling a Planet Ocean bracelet with end links stamped 952 that he says are 22mm. He has it listed on Ebay but he's 30miles from me and agreed to meet me and let me try it for fitment. His whole bracelet is just under $300 so we'll see. I'm going to call the Omega boutique here in Phoenix as well and maybe stop by there today to verify authenticity. Incidently, I have a Mido Ocean Star GMT with a beautiful 22mm bracelet that fits my Planet Ocean beautifully. Just depends how anal I want to be about OEM. Thank you for the response

Google AI tells me the Omega 951 end link was primarily made 20mm but with exceptions for the Planet Ocean where those end links were 22mm even though stamped 951. Chat gpt says the 951 end links only are 22mm.

I will say the channels on my 951 stamped end links look wider and more square than yours perhaps indicating after market. The link adjacent to the end link also has an arrow on it where yours does not

Final update. Met the guy with the Ebay PO bracelet. Didn't fit. He thought his PO bracelet had 22mm end links. They were 20mm like mine. Then went to the Omega Boutique in Scottsdale. Turns out the bracelet I received with the watch is mismatched. It's fine. I got a new OEM rubber strap with the watch and a great overall deal. At least the bracelet is genuine Omega. New 22mm end links cannot be installed on my bracelet because it is a 20mm no taper Omega bracelet for other PO models. I forgot to ask why end links stamped 951 would come in both 22mm and 20mm sizes. He didn't say which PO model the bracelet matches. Well, I have a 20mm Omega PO bracelet to sell now. I ordered a new bracelet and a new bezel at the OB. It'll be like having a new watch. The guy at the OB said the watch was in great shape otherwise and a beautiful example of this iconic watch. Once the new bracelet and bezel arrive, he's steering me to an Omega AD who they send a lot of work to who does excellent repair and install work on Omegas that come to them. A lot of running around but got my issue resolved.

Final update II

Seller provided me an OEM PO 22mm bracelet in a swap for my ill-fitting 20mm bracelet. So saving the $850 for the new bracelet from the OB. I might put the new bracelet on it however and flip the older one. I am going to replace the bezel the OB is ordering for me.
