Omega Parts from 8400 Service (300MC)

Just thought I would post a few quick pics of the bits returned with my recent 300MC service from Secaucus, NJ. This was after nearly 6yrs of intermittent wear in rotation with around twenty-some other watches. Took around 6 weeks. No problems--it performs just like new (less than a second per day fast). They gave it a light polish, which is all that was necessary anyway given it only had a few hairlines on the polished center links and had clasp. Here are the pics:

I think it's interesting. No way for me to know whether these parts are replaced as a matter of course, or because there was actually something wrong with them, or perhaps a re-design or modification of those parts. It's a little strange that so much of the escapement was replaced, and the 15,000 Gauss resistant watch was somehow magnetized. But, I have the watch back and it's keeping time just as it did when I bought it new.

Common misconception that the METAS certified watches (well, the movements inside) are immune to magnetism, they are not. They simply remain within time keeping specifications while magnetised. So, magnetised or not they will still keep good time 😀

Not exactly modern watches that needed parts swapped but still really neat to see what had to come out to make it work properly. The documentation Archer sent along with the watch had a ton of detail about pretty much each part.

Proper crown might end up on the watch again at it's next service (years from now) - I went with new pusher/crown to better protect the watch from water.
