The writting seems very faded which I find odd... It also has no lume plots, others on the net seem to have had them... The crown is definitely a replacement...
Here's a 2802-4 reference.

What are your thoughts about it? What did your research tell you?

just a guess, but could be his research led him to this site, which is a pretty good place to get some second opinions no?

I think that the watch is legit. Crown is a replacement. Otherwise looks ok to me, but the movement will need a service.

It is a mid 1950s watch and there were a lot of dial variations then. So it's likely you'll find different designs on a google research.

Redial
That's what I'm leaning towards as well. It just doesn't scream genuine... Seems like a couple of details are out of place or missing. But it's not bad, for the right price. I just wish the ink was more pronounced and not so faded...

Please read his other posts. A lot of people come on this site without doing a second of proper research and wait impatiently for the members on OF to to the homework. That's just entitled lazyness.

I post a picture with improved sharpness. I think it's genuine, Crown is a replacement as mentioned.

If its redial, then it's not a honest seller as he say the dial is original

The 'r' looks different than the 2802-4 but maybe they changed it. What are they asking for it?

Agree on this.
My guess is that dial is original, crown is not.

Might also be a rather old redial and seller simply not knowing. Having said that it looks like original time used and nicely done to me. I must say I love that pattern in the dial. Next to linen this is also very nice pattern.

I would go with a redial. The minute markers seem to be pointing in different directions.
For example between 9 and 10. 5 and 6.
