·Indeed you have to join to read the info. The thread is about whether or not the Australian JLCs can be distinguished from the British WWW JLCs based on movement serial number and/or case back number. I collected any serial and case back number I could find at the internet in a spreadsheet (ca 45 British watches, and 10 Australian watches). Bottom line is the numbering of the cal 470 movement (which was especially produced for the W.W.W.s and the Australian equivalent) don't seem to follow any logic. At the MWR forum somebody stated the cal 470 movement numbers should fall between 315xxx and 325xxxx where the Aussie watches typically have numbers between 317xxx and 322xxx (but there are also plenty of English watches found in this range), but I found movement numbers far out of this range (though I must say, some are difficult to read).
Case back numbers are a clearer story: British JLC WWW, I found between 279xxx and 287xxx. Aussies between 293xxx and 294xxx.
The Aussie have different cases: shiny chromium instead of dull nickel.
