    Hey all,

I'm eyeing this Omega military watch, and wanted second opinions on it. The seller claims it's from the 1940s. Does anyone know what the reference number is?

If you show the caseback, we may be able to determine if it is military.

Nice history on the caseback but obviously not military. In this era, many Omega watches like this one did not have reference numbers.

One thing I really like is the inscription itself. For some reason nowadays they don't make them like that any more

Can you please enlighten me and tell me what qualify a watch like a "military watch". I seen many seller described their watch as "Military" because are from WW2 period but what exactly has to be written on an Omega to by "Military"? Thank you.

A watch purchased by a military purchasing department and issued to serving members of the relevant military units.

A watch purchased from Garrards by Flight Lieutenant Bloggs when on leave in London in 1940, while worn on active service, is not a military watch.

If a watch has arabic numbers some traders like to think it has a military connection. As @JimInOz already stated the accepted rule is purchased by the military purchase dept and (almost always) marked as such by inventory numbers
