Omega Memomatic 166.071

Hi,
I tried to order a new bracelet for an Omega Memomatic that was handed down to me from an old uncle. The current bracelet is not original and often comes loose so I bought a 1162/173 bracelet because I read it would fit on a memomatic but it fits on a 166.072 and not the 071 馃檨

The 173 end links are a bit too short... Anybody knows which links I need?

Many thanks!

Hi @JackCLJ
Welcome to the forum.

Congrats on a great Omega watch. Wear it in good health.
So I am not clear on if you are looking for endlinks for a 166.072 cushion case or the 166.071 Dome with hidden lugs.
So I've been looking for all.
So far I've found that you could seem to be able to use these vintage end links 616 and 618 as seen here.
http://chronomaddox.com/omega/manuals/memomatic/memomatic.html

The Dome is similar to some of the Speedmaster and Flightmaster references.

In the mean time you could put on a Nato strap if you wanted to wear it.

Hope you post a couple of nice photos.

All the best

Thanks for your reply!
It's the Dome one (166.071) that I have. So would 616 and 618 work with that and the 1162 bracelet? I'm kind of lost with all those options 馃槈
I'll send pictures once I get in front of my PC

Here are some photos of the watch and the bracelet I'm trying to fit.
On the back of the watch there are lots of codes engraved. It was probably his card NIP or something similar.

So there is a picture my Memomatic says Hi.

I could not remember if it had a strap or bracelet. I usually prefer straps.

Let me rephrase to avoid confusion. I have never owned a 166.0071 or 166.0072. Just trying to help a newcomer find the information I believe is correct. It can be a bit daunting with all these number and references.
So I'll start with saying this: "166.071" with domed case and hidden lugs.
Can also be written as "166.0071" and "166071" and "1660071"
So when you are searching and cannot find with one reference for the watch try the others.

So I believe that you are looking for bracelet 1171
There are two suggested endlinks 175 and 699

This is how I believe Omega shipped the watch.

It is not to say that other combinations will or will not work. I don't have any data or experience to speak to that.
So you could try report back. Just like Sheepdoll likes his on a black leather strap - it works for him.

Ok now lets take the same approach but in revers for the bracelet you have.
The bracelet 1162 and endlink 173 I believe was shipped with a different watch/s in mind.

The Speedmaster Mark II and Seamaster F300hz
So if you google 145.014 or 145.0014 etc.
I have included the links to the omegas own vintage section. Note this db is not complete and might show slightly different combinations.
You can check old-omegas site for old catalogs from the 70's.
Here is the list for the barcelet:

Wow the caseback has some history on it. Not sure what the numbers are they defiantly are added after the watch was purchased.
Would need a better picture to research more.
What is a NIP number.
Is it a Polish ID?
You would be in a better position to match that against the engraving.

Please please make sure you take it watchmaker who knows what they are doing and will respect your families watch.
Let us know what country you are in and someone will be able to help you find the right team.

Again thanks for sharing.
Hope that this is helping

@Archer Can you assist with possible solutions for a watchmaker in your fair land 馃槈
Maybe share some insight on:
Endlinks that would fit an 166.0071 to a 1162 bracelet. I did some digging on the topic and found what I believe is the "official/shipped from factory" bracelet and endlink combo.

Thanks before hand
