Omega Medicus (well, kind of)

Just moved house and I went to the new (to me) Doctor's for the first time today

Seemed like a nice young chap (a Vietnamese Canadian guy from Toronto, now in Oxford) then I noticed he had a lovely old 1960s Seamster on. I too was wearing something similar so we talked watches, specifically Omegas. Then he looked at my sore foot. Then we talked watches some more. It was great! I left feeling a lot better.

Of mil interest is a RCAF Techron he bought and loves ("18 jewel movement") and he also told me the story of the time he saw a cal. 321 Seamaster on ebay for 拢40 but in the 30 seconds it took him Google that it was what he thought it was, it sold.

I promised to invent an ailment and bring some more watches to show him, which delighted him. He's thinking of putting a pulsometer bezel on his Speedmaster, natch.

Hi Stewart good to hear from you. Alas I can't help you. This is a technical question for a watchmaker. Have you tried "Archer"? He knows everything about the movements, parts, etc. Sorry I can't assist you. Best, Ollie

This watch has I believe a Cal. 23/4 SC, so that would be a Cal.. 231 in modern numbering.

The only description that makes sense is this:

72202201335 | END-PIECE BOLT FOR BALANCE

It is discontinued, so you would have to find one on the open market or from a donor watch.

Hi Archer 馃憢,

I really appreciate you reaching out and for the extra info about the part I'm trying to obtain, I've just found out that someone in Spain 馃嚜馃嚫 may be able to help me so fingers馃with that one.

Thankyou to you once again and Ollie

Not sure about this, but the part in your photos suspiciously looks a bit like this:

If so, this is 23.4SC 'jewel lock' or Omega part M/203 (or 1335/OME 220). I had my Naiad serviced couple of months back and this was one of the two parts we had to replace (found it from Ebay).

Yes, that's the part. Of course these places make up their own part number sequences, but the numbers of the actual part number are there (220 for caliber and 1335 for the part) from the actual Omega part number I've posted.

Didn't realize this. And the 'end piece for bolt balance' (which I assume is an actual correct Omega part name) in Ebay yields many more listings than what I got (using the name from Emmy watch link) when I was looking for the part.
