first thought was that’s bad for the watch, but I think I was confusing watches with snails.

Lovely photos!! I had a similar experience with my 300M, fell in love with it because it have that vintage charm with modern day materials and movement. I wore mine mostly on leather and when on vacation the NATO (water friendly). Eventually I moved it on to buy a vintage Heuer that I was chasing for some time (72 Monaco). I still do miss it, and consider adding it back to the collection, I go with the re-issue of the original that was released with the trilogy.
